Truleigh Hill and the South Downs Way
The stunning view along the scarp slope of the South Downs from the Devil's Dyke north of Brighton, overlooking the route followed by the South Downs Way
.
You can see the whole of the West Sussex Weald from here on a clear day.
But the most evocative view is along the northern slope of the South Downs.
Here the main features are Truleigh Hill , picked out by its distinctive masts, with the crown of trees on Chanctonbury Ring further on, above Washington.
This photo shows clearly the gaps in the South Downs carved by the River Adur at Steyning and, further on, the River Arun at Arundel.
