Sussex has a good claim to be the birthplace of club cricket, with some of the earliest recorded cricket matches being played in the county in the 18th century at Slindon and Goodwood. After years without success Sussex County Cricket Club has enjoyed a golden decade of success recently, winning all the major cricket trophies - with the three county championship triumphs the highlight. With so many striking cricket grounds, West Sussex is a great place to play cricket and a fabulous place to go on cricket tour too.
